My career began in residential substance use treatment facilities, where I gained invaluable experience not only in treating individuals with Substance Use Disorders and co-occurring disorders, but also in cultivating the therapeutic alliance and fostering trusting, therapeutic relationships. Witnessing clients undergo profound transformations from their lowest points taught me about human resilience and the profound impact of genuine therapeutic work in reshaping lives.
Transitioning to a long-term behavioral health facility, I expanded my expertise to include working extensively with families and couples. Direct engagement with family systems underscored the critical role of familial dynamics in treatment outcomes. Over a decade, I facilitated family groups, workshops, and intensive interventions, embracing the belief that “The family is the patient and the patient is the family,” a principle I continue to uphold in my current practice.
Before entering private practice, I served as Clinical Director at a nationally recognized Behavioral Health treatment center, where I developed and supervised comprehensive clinical programs. This role allowed me to mentor and supervise Master’s level therapists, fostering their growth in effectively supporting individuals and families in need. As a Qualified Supervisor for licensure candidates and certified in anger management (CAMS-II), CBT, DBT, REBT, and trauma (EMDR), I bring extensive experience and a nuanced understanding of the treatment landscape to my practice.
Therapy, in my view, should challenge and push boundaries to foster genuine personal growth and pride in one’s journey. I deeply respect those who embark on this path, demonstrating courage and commitment to making lasting changes in their lives.
